Getting back to it!

What’s up, folks?

Ya, it’s been a long time since I posted anything… much to my everlasting shame.  I know some previous readers have been calling for a revival of food and writing, seeing what new and wacky things I can come up with and gross others out with.  This all began as a fun way to share my passion for delicious food and drink, maybe some little life tid-bits like talk of fine cigars and general life musings.  Of course, it kind of went off the rails with how busy life can get.  But, I think it is time to get back to a little creativity and see what we can come up with.

It’s time to revamp things and get back into the fun of food, health/fitness, and life!

Ok, so here is an update from my neck of the woods:

In the past it of time since my writings have stopped, my culinary journey has been a slow one.  I am back to cooking for one, which started this whole thing, so we are getting back on track.  Yes, divorce has reared its ugly head for me, but it’s all good.   Things are better than ever, and I mean that with all sincerity.  I sold my house, I am back to keeping it real as a hard-charging solo act, and I have never been in a better place mentally, spiritually, and physically in my whole life.  I am literally HIGH ON LIFE.

Ok, now that that is out of the way, let’s chat a bit and give you some background on what I intend for these new writings.
(Continued)

I am back into health and fitness, more specifically, I am a nut for Yoga and Hot Yoga and clean eating, well, most of the time when I can.  I don’t care what anyone says, hot yoga is the toughest thing I have ever done, at least since getting my butt whipped during high school wrestling practice.  Seriously, get yourself a Groupon for a studio and get out there.  You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.  I spent years losing weight (after college I was 240 lbs. I have since reached 145 lbs of lean mean wrecking machine) the conventional ways with running and weight training.  I highly recommend to those whole love weights like I do to buy a copy of the Men’s Health Power Training book.  It builds the body of an athlete, not a body builder.  These days, I have achieved spectacular results with yoga and hot yoga, which lengthens and tightens the muscles.  No I am toning, lean, and muscular.  It’s amazing.  So, I do plan to talk about all this in my posts as well as foodie goodies.

Second, and what is the backbone of this site, is the grub.  I fully intend to captivate with my delicious ideas and trials of everything from every corner of the Earth.  I will also write on my daily foray with the greatest lifestyle change I have put into play: utilizing the Gracie Diet!

I know my close friends are probably rolling their eyes, but I am going to talk about this anyway.  This has been by far the most important discover I have made in nutrition.  As a health and fitness nut, I have done research until my eyes have bled, looking for a better way to eat well and still make the gains in keeping a strong and toned athletic body.  This has become especially pertinent since I am broaching the cusp of turning 30.

Since this is just a shout out to getting back into it, I will delve further into this amazing lifestyle (because it is a lifestyle as opposed to a diet, despite the name).  I will however give a bit of background so you know what to expect.

The Gracie Diet
The Gracie Diet is a way of eating, developed by the Gracie family who developed and pioneered Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (a hybrid of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).  This family is the foremost self-defense, top UFC/MMA, and largest family of athletes in the world (UFC was the original MMA created by Rorion Gracie).  With these top dogs doing their thing, and training dojos all over the world, I figure they must know a thing or two and am choosing to listen when they speak.  This “lifestyle” is unlike any other dietary/nutritional venture I have researched.  It is not about cutting foods, and restriction, but about how to properly combine foods so as to avoid high levels of acidity in the blood and fermentation in your stomach.  The goal is to be healthy and always ready for anything, increased energy, better whole health, and happiness!

Check out the site for yourself: http://graciediet.com/

Ok, so now you see what I am working with.  Again, I will give more information on what I am doing with so you too can see this awesome lifestyle in action.

Right now, let me just say thank you all call for this revival and I hope to be 100x’s better at this.

Thanks everyone, and I will see you in the digital ocean!

Cheers,

Chris
